Julyeth started her career in community education and advocacy before becoming a psychotherapist with adolescents, adults and families. She specializes in clients experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, parenting stressors and grief, as well as clients with ADHD and Autism. Julyeth merges her understanding of how systems impact individuals (and vice versa) with a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Strengths-Based Approach. A key part of her work is helping clients understand how their brain works and develop coping strategies that build on what’s most natural to them.
I enjoy seeing my clients come to life, find out who they are and discover how they want to exist in the world. Together, we'll tap into your innate abilities, figure out what has helped in the past (and what is no longer useful), and rewire how you see yourself.
My focus is on helping you heal from the impact of past experiences while also taking practical steps to manage day-to-day tasks, accomplish goals, and find the language to advocate for your needs. I'll walk alongside you as you move through tough and unexpected experiences – helping you find ways to cope, accept change, and grieve the loss of what life used to be.
As a Spanish-speaking Afro-Latina, I am a culturally sensitive practitioner who understands clients who have been “othered” or who hold multiple identities, including biracial and bicultural individuals. My clients include first-generation Americans, descendants of immigrants, and anyone navigating life changes and identity shifts. I help clients discover who they are and challenge messages that make them feel small and “less than”.
On my days off, I enjoy finding new neighborhoods around the city and indulging in new coffee shops and bookstores. I love finding new adventures locally as well as globally. My global adventures have led me to see three out of the seven world wonders.
